Covid Awareness Rules for 2021

In recognition that COVID precautions continue to be necessary, the Board has reviewed and approved the following guidelines for use of facilities during the 2021 season:

Grounds and Clubhouse Open to Members for Leisure or Work

Members may use the Club grounds and the Clubhouse for leisure, as well as to work on their boats, or join Club work parties, subject to the rules below. Leisure includes sailing, but also strolling the grounds and pier, or sitting on the porch, patio, picnic area, pier and Clubhouse.

Members Must Practice Social Distancing and Wear a Mask

  1. At the Club, members must follow NY social distancing guidelines (6 feet of distance, except for members of the same household), or must wear a mask or face-covering.
  2. Mask/face-covering must be worn in the Clubhouse.

Facilities Subject to Special Rules

  1. The playground is open.
  2. The grills are open.
  3. Mask/face-covering must be worn on the Launch.
  4. Launch passengers are limited to 20. Note: Launch Captains may limit the number of passengers per boat at their discretion per H&G Rules.

Member Guests Permitted at the Club

Members may bring guests to the Club, subject to the usual restrictions and rules. As always, members are responsible for ensuring their guests comply with all Club rules, including these special rules.

WSO Organizers May Issue Special Rules for Work Parties

Committee chairs or members responsible for WSO work parties may set special rules for their activities and events to protect the health and safety of their participants and the members.

Junior Sailing Separation

When Junior Sailing is in session (Monday-Friday):

  1. Don’t enter the lawn or the picnic area from the south parking lot or from the porch/patio.
  2. Wear a mask if you have to be in the south part of the bulkhead/lower parking area when children or Junior Sailing staff are present.
