Enjoy Some Serious Fun at the Nyack Boat Club

The Nyack Boat Club is one of the best, most active sailing and sailboat racing clubs in the tri-state area. The “One-Design” classes—where all boats are virtually identical in design—encompasses a broad range of boats that can accommodate all interests, ages, and skill levels. Each has its own dedicated fleet, and the Ensign, Laser, Lightning, Sonar, and Thistle fleets run active racing programs from May through October.

Our largest fleet is our "Cruising" fleet, which is moored in the historic Hudson River just off the Nyack Boat Club clubhouse. Sailors are ferried to and from their boats by the club launch. In addition to casual cruising, members of the cruising fleet actively race on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons under the PHRF rating system. The skippers of all of these boats are always looking for both beginning and experienced sailors—as well as those who want to give it a try—join them on the Hudson. The only real requirements are an interest in getting out on the water and a desire to experience—and enjoy—the sport of sailing.
